Historical background

Aerial photographs of Berlin-Tempelhof in July 1945 show a picture of destruction and devastation. Tempelhof Airport in the heart of Berlin was severely damaged by Allied bombing raids during the Second World War. The very rare aerial footage of Berlin-Tempelhof was shot by the US Air Force in the Special Film Project. The original is 16 mm Kodachrome colour film.
