Description

Junkers JU 388 ;Photo; Licence article; Original: 5740×4315; Photographer: Unknown; Rights: © Historiathek/Bleek/zb Media; The Junkers Ju 388 was a German multi-purpose aircraft developed during the Second World War. It was designed as a high-altitude bomber, reconnaissance aircraft and night fighter. Introduced in 1943, the Ju 388 was a further development of the Ju 88 with improved engines, better defence armament and pressurised crew cabins for use at high altitudes. Despite its advanced design, only a limited number of examples were produced for Germany due to the deteriorating war situation, meaning that it was only used to a limited extent before the end of the war.
