Historical context
In April 1933, the National Socialists attempt to take over all areas of society with a series of propaganda campaigns and to stage national grandeur. Here, a Lufthansa aircraft that has long since been put into service is subsequently christened “General Field Marshal Hindenburg”. The film shows the Field Marshal and President of the Reich in attendance. The purpose of the exercise is clearly to impress the old man with the honour.
