Speakers’ Corner in London’s Hyde Park had been a traditional site of public freedom of speech since the 19th century, where anyone could speak without prior registration. Jack Lieb captured this location on Kodachrome in May 1944, while preparing with other war correspondents in England for D-Day. The scene is part of the London preparation section of his film, which documents everyday life in the British capital in the weeks immediately preceding the invasion.
