US soldiers at the Siegfried Line (Westwall). This still comes from the color film “D-Day to Germany” by US newsreel cameraman Jack Lieb, who documented the Allied invasion in Normandy and the Allied advance into Germany in 1944 using a 16mm Kodachrome camera. The color footage is particularly notable in that most documentation of the same events is in black and white.
