Engineers Korolev and Tupolev. The photograph shows Soviet engineers Sergei Korolev and Andrei Tupolev in the 1950s — two of the most prominent figures in Soviet aviation and aerospace engineering.

Sergei Korolev: Chief designer of Soviet space exploration, responsible for the development of the R-7 rocket, the Sputnik launch (1957), and later the first crewed space flight with Yuri Gagarin (1961).

Andrei Tupolev: Legendary aircraft designer, known for the development of Soviet bombers and passenger aircraft, including the Tupolev Tu-95 and the Tu-104 — the USSR’s first series-produced jet airliner.

In the photograph, they may be seen at a meeting, test site, or design bureau, discussing technological developments. Their work laid the foundation for Soviet dominance in early space exploration and aviation during the Cold War.
