The photograph shows the Semperoper in Dresden from a slightly oblique perspective, clearly capturing the Baroque Revival structure with its two main stories, the gabled roof with sculptural ornamentation, and the distinctive ashlar masonry. In the foreground, one can see the well-maintained plaza of the Theaterplatz with a shallow circular fountain and ornamentally landscaped lawns. The building presents itself in a tranquil atmosphere without crowds. In the travel film, the Semperoper stands as an outstanding architectural monument of Dresden’s urban culture and as a landmark of the Saxon capital. In the film’s Dresden section, it complements the presentation of the Zwinger and other Baroque architectural ensembles along the Elbe riverbank.
