Following the breakthrough from the Normandy beachheads, Allied war correspondents also visited Mont-Saint-Michel, which had been evacuated by German troops without combat. In this section of his color film, Jack Lieb captured everyday scenes in the Normandy hinterland, including this moment with photographer Robert Capa, who worked for the Magnum picture agency and Life magazine. Capa was among the most renowned war photographers of the Second World War and had himself documented the landing at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944.
