During his state visit to the Federal Republic of Germany from June 23 to 26, 1963, U.S. President John F. Kennedy delivered public speeches at several locations. The visit took place in the context of the Cold War and served to reaffirm the transatlantic partnership as well as the American security guarantee for West Germany and West Berlin. Kennedy’s appearances before the German public were accompanied by widespread enthusiasm.
