Chancellor Konrad Adenauer speaks at an outdoor podium, accompanied by several microphones. The appearance took place during U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s visit to Germany from June 23 to 26, 1963. The visit was marked by the Cold War and the Berlin Wall, erected in 1961; Adenauer accompanied Kennedy as host and most important West German representative during several stops of the journey.
