On the occasion of the state visit of U.S. President John F. Kennedy to the Federal Republic of Germany (June 23–26, 1963), Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer delivered public addresses. The visit took place against the backdrop of the Cold War and the construction of the Wall in 1961. Adenauer accompanied Kennedy at several stops during his journey through the Federal Republic.
