During his visit to Germany from June 23 to 26, 1963, U.S. President John F. Kennedy traveled between several locations—including Cologne, Bonn, Frankfurt, and West Berlin. The photograph shows him boarding an aircraft stairway and documents one of the airport stops during this trip.
