London was in 1944 the central point of departure and assembly area for Allied preparations for the invasion of Normandy. Jack Lieb was in England during this phase and filmed there with his private 16-mm Kodachrome camera. The Thames, as London’s main artery, remained a lively commercial and supply route even during the war. This footage belongs to the England section of Lieb’s film, which documents the months before D-Day.
