Following the liberation of Paris on August 25, 1944, a victory parade took place on the Champs-Élysées, in which Allied units participated alongside French forces under General de Gaulle. The parade served as the symbolic return of the capital to France and was perceived worldwide as a turning point in the liberation of Western Europe. Jack Lieb captured this moment in color as one of the few cameramen present; his 16-mm Kodachrome footage ranks among the rare color documents of this event.
