Following the liberation of Paris on August 25, 1944, a major victory parade of the Allied forces took place on the Champs-Élysées on August 29. Jack Lieb documented the event with his 16-mm Kodachrome camera — at a time when Paris had just been recaptured after four years of German occupation. The footage is among the rare color documents of this historically significant ceremony, which marked the symbolic conclusion of the liberation campaign in the French capital.
