This still image comes from the color film “D-Day to Germany” by U.S. newsreel cameraman Jack Lieb, who documented the Allied invasion of Normandy in 1944 and the Allied advance into Germany using a 16-mm Kodachrome camera. The color footage is particularly noteworthy because most documentation of the same events was in black and white.
