Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park remained a lively forum for public free speech in the heart of London during the Second World War. Jack Lieb was in England in May 1944 to document the preparations for the Allied invasion, and during this time also captured scenes of civilian everyday life in the British capital. These recordings belong to the early phase of his film and show life in London in the weeks immediately before D-Day on June 6, 1944.
