Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park was also in spring 1944 a lively place of public expression, in the midst of wartime everyday life in the British capital. Jack Lieb captured this moment in color in May 1944, a few weeks before the landing in Normandy. The photograph belongs to the opening phase of his film, which documents life and atmosphere in England immediately before D-Day.
