Paris was liberated on August 25, 1944 by Allied and French troops, after the city had been under German occupation for four years. Jack Lieb filmed the Parisian civilian population in the immediate days following liberation – rare color footage of this historical phase. The scene shows the everyday life of city residents, which quickly resumed, while at the same time the Allied advance toward Germany continued.
